Everything you need to know about training at MKA, from your first class to the class schedule, membership, kids programmes, and how to find us.
General
MKA is at APEX@Henderson, 201 Henderson Road, #05-02/#05-03, Singapore 159545. Several bus stops are located right outside the building, with routes coming from all directions across Singapore. Paid parking is also available onsite.
Olympic wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi and No-Gi), and strength & conditioning for adults and kids aged 4–14. Wrestling is our foundation, and it shapes everything we do, including how we approach BJJ.
Every class is led by Coach Artem Kotov, a Paris 2024 Olympic team coach, two-time national wrestling champion, and ADCC No-Gi champion with over 20 years of coaching across Olympic programmes, national federations, and private academies.
None at all. About half of our members had never grappled before joining. Classes are structured so beginners train safely alongside more experienced athletes, and you’ll learn the fundamentals from your first session.
Wrestling
Olympic wrestling, covering both freestyle and Greco-Roman techniques. Classes cover takedowns, top control, stand-up defence, and chain wrestling, with strength & conditioning integrated into every session.
Absolutely. Beginner sessions start with the basics: stances, movement, breakfalls, and core techniques, so you build a solid foundation before anything advanced. No athletic background is required, just willingness to learn.
Adult wrestling runs throughout the week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday have morning and lunchtime sessions, with evening sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Saturday has a dedicated S&C session and a midday wrestling class. Check the schedule page for current times.
Yes. Coach Artem provides competition preparation including advanced technique, match simulation, and tactical game-planning with periodised S&C. He has coached athletes at Olympic, SEA Games, and international championship level.
BJJ
Yes. We run both Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults and kids. No-Gi complements our wrestling programme, while Gi classes develop precision and classical BJJ technique.
All levels, from white belt onwards. The curriculum covers fundamentals, guard work, submissions, sweeps, and competition preparation. Coach Artem is a BJJ brown belt, ADCC No-Gi champion, and AJP champion in both Gi and No-Gi.
MKA is a wrestling-first academy, so our BJJ emphasises pressure, positional control, and takedown integration rather than pulling guard. Training both disciplines under the same coach builds complete grapplers with no gaps between standing and ground work.
Not at all - the BJJ classes stand on their own. That said, many members train both disciplines, and the crossover in pressure, balance, and takedowns is one of the biggest advantages of training at a wrestling-first gym.
Kids Classes
MKA runs classes for children aged 4 to 14 in three groups: Mini Wrestlers (ages 4–5), Kids Fundamentals (ages 6–9), and Kids Performance (ages 10–14). Dedicated kids BJJ sessions are also available during the week.
Very. There’s no punching or kicking - all contact is controlled and progressive. MKA uses high-quality padded mats, keeps class sizes small, and every session is coached by Artem, who has Olympic-level credentials and years of experience working with young athletes.
Beyond technique, kids develop problem-solving under pressure, earned confidence, resilience, discipline, and full-body athleticism. The training is structured around their age group so it stays challenging and fun.
